John Mitchell is a former journalist and foreign correspondent who specialises in journalese and documentary style photography in addition to travel writing.

About 18 months ago, on Christmas Day 2009, he suffered a heart attack which saw him hospitalized for a triple bypass operation.

He fell into the 5 percent of patients who suffer a stroke at the same time as the triple bypass is done.

Mitchell almost died, but his fighting spirit won through, and after four months in four hospitals, he is, typically, again almost back to normal.

Based in Adelaide, Australia, Mitchell operates his own public relations and media and speech writing consultancy, and is available for writing and photography commissions.
